I’ve been busy failing at nano at the moment as this Nov is busier than usual. I can still catch up. Today will help since I messed up my foot (neuritis/bursitis) so I can’t walk much. I’ll just stay here chained to the computer.
Still more of These Haunted Hills. Brendan is following Josh and Hoshi (one of the team psychics) to the attic of a potentially haunted house.
One of the problems with these old houses was the weird height of the steps. He was sure he was going to fall down them. He’d probably save that for when he was running from the ghost. Brendan could picture the headlines now. Novelist dead of broken neck after falling down a haunted staircase. At the bend of the steps, Hoshi stopped her brow furrowing. He held his breath. Was she seeing something? All he could see was the last of the light coming through the beautiful stained glass window. He could see what Hunter meant about the beauty of old houses like this. Brendan was fond of them himself but Kristen had wanted modern.

Is it something she sees? Or something she hears? Old houses tend to be a bit creaky. Especially the supposedly haunted ones.

Thanks. It’ll be something she sees

At least Brendan isn’t losing his sense of humour, despite the tense situation.

Thanks. Brendan is managing to hang on to that

“Novelist dead of broken neck after falling down a haunted staircase.” – Now that’s a memorable headline and a tombstone epitaph rolled into one. Nice snip! And sorry about the foot. I’m currently wearing a medical boot on my left foot because something, meaning two full cans of Lysol, fell on it, so I fully sympathize.

Yes it is. I could use that boot but they didn’t have one in stock and I’m like fine, I’m a podiatrist I can figure out something just as good…. hope your foot is on the mend.

Sounds like a beautiful house, I love the picture you paint with the staircase and the stained glass it’s very atmospheric! Good luck with NaNo and really hope your foot is better soon too!
