Rainbow Snippet

I’m house/cat sitting for my brother. I hope to get some work done on my writing but day one was not going great. So let’s just dive back into Kaleo and Aneirin’s story

They finally made it to the party

“This is going to be very hard for you.” Kaleo tugged at his shirt collar, flashing a hint of olive-toned skin.

Aneirin shifted on the shuttle’s seat, trying to ignore that delicate flare of collar bone. “It is. It would be good to keep to ourselves as much as possible.”

“If I’m not to be putting on a show for my master, I was well trained in keeping quiet and what did they call it? Demure? I wasn’t even sure what that meant.”

“So far you haven’t evidenced any skill at either.” Aneirin grinned, trying to picture Kaleo being demure and nearly laughed.

Kaleo curled a lip at him. “I might evidence my vast knowledge of curse words on you.”

Another rough week that included an emergency tooth removal before blood thinners were out of my system. Ugh.

Continuing with the SF thing. Kaleo and Aneirin are discussing the first time he’ll be taking Kaleo out to a party.

“And Kaleo, I’m assuming they told you what it means when a Master claims he’s jealous,” Shyroth said.

“Yeah, it means I’m for you and you alone.” Kaleo wet his lips, thinking of the protection that would give him. “No one else can touch me unless they ask permission.”

“And I have no intention of giving it.” Shyroth spun back to his computers and shut the holos down. “I meant it when I said I wouldn’t let anyone hurt you.”

“Thank you, sir. I appreciate that. I’ll go get ready.”

Shyroth nodded without looking back. “Hopefully we won’t have to stay long.”

Another few weeks of me going radio silent. It’s just being rough. I have to find a surgeon because of the tumors in my neck (okay I’ve found him. It’s finding time to deal that’s the issue)

I’m continuing on with Kaleo’s story. Shyroth is taking him to a function and Kaleo is distrustful of all of this and is using a bondage collar as his litmus test as to Aneirin’s true intentions

“It’s neither casual nor fancy so pick one of the outfits from the middle range.”

“Want me to wear the collar with your charm on it?” Kaleo asked, feeling all the safety of the day before trickling away from him. Anyone could use a toy. Even if Shyroth behaved himself, someone else could put their hands on him.

“No, I do not,” Shyroth replied but for the first time, Kaleo didn’t believe him. He saw the subtle dilation of Shyroth’s pupils and the little hitch in his breathing.

The man liked the collar. He’d file that away. Kaleo had been right about the man being a perv, regardless of what he pretended, but on the other hand, he was a horrible liar. Kaleo had seen right through him. Most slum mutts learned to lie easily. Oh there were some like Xander who were awful, but they weren’t the norm. Xander, with his pre-colony name and sensitive ways, would have been dead long ago if not for the gang Kaleo ran with. He was a sweet, stupid kid. Like he told Shyroth there was always that one dumb friend, and Xander was it. Shyroth lied almost as badly as Xander. Kaleo could prove it if he put that collar on.
